Web Application Developer

Be part of a small, Shibuya-based web agency specializing in the design and development of custom-coded web applications and cutting-edge, multilingual websites. Our work includes e-commerce systems, social networking sites, corporate websites and more. We have a focus on food, wine, luxury brands and other areas that serve the foreign community in Japan. |

| Summary |
Development and support of custom web applications, database design, system architecture and specification. Additional activities related to ongoing technology projects either in an advisory or participant role may be required. |

| Duties and Responsibilities |
- Responsible for the development, testing and deployment of custom web applications and services
- Comprehensive experience with structuring, developing, and implementing websites and multilingual CMSs
- Design, develop, and update databases as they relate to Web applications
- Develop Web 2.0 applications using Ajax and other technologies
- Identify and resolve browser compatibility issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing web applications
- Develop web services and middle-tier objects
- Solid understanding of application development methodologies and life-cycle
- Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements
- Experience in defining functional requirements
- Experience with computer graphics

- 5+ years related work experience.

PHP, CSS, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML, SQL. Experience with Joomla! and MODx CMS. MySQL. |
